Criteria

Inclusion Criteria:

• tonsillectomy with or without adenoidectomy

• under the age of 18

Exclusion Criteria:

• penicillin allergy

• took antibiotics within 7 days of surgery

• medical comorbidity requiring treatment with antibiotics
