Criteria

Inclusion Criteria:

• Patients with clinical diagnosis sepsis with septic shock (results of blood cultures not required).

• A minimum of 2 organ systems affected and vasopressor treatment with norepinephrine

• Intubated and mechanically ventilated.

• Acute kidney injury stage 3 according to Acute Kidney Injury Network (AKIN), or stage 2 with additional oliguria (<0,3ml/kg/h) during at least 2h

Exclusion Criteria:

• Pregnancy

• Chronic kidney failure

• Renal Replacement Therapy

• Instability in vital parameters to a degree where MRI is not feasible

• Inclusion in another study

• Contraindications for MRI (implants, coils, pacemakers, etc)

• Body temperature above 38 degrees Celsius after antipyretics
