Inclusion Criteria:

• osteoarthritis of the knee or hip according to Kellgren-Lawrence x-ray grade of 2

Exclusion Criteria:

• pregnancy or intent to become pregnant

• BMI greater than 39

• other severe pain, significant cardiac, neurological or psychiatric disease
