Inclusion Criteria:

• American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status I and II

• preschool-aged children undergoing strabismus surgery

Exclusion Criteria:

• psychological disorders

• emotional disorders

• abnormal cognitive development

• developmental delay

• allergy to the drugs in our protocol
