Criteria

Inclusion Criteria:

• less than one year of age

• undergoing cardiac surgery for repair of ventricular septal defect

• requiring cardiopulmonary bypass

• not requiring retrogrades cerebral perfusion

Exclusion Criteria:

• Downs Syndrome
